DESIGN SPRINTS
The design sprint is a five-day Google ventures effort that has been coined in the book “Sprint.” It is a process where you find answers to critical business questions in five days through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers. It can also be seen as a recipe that takes the mindset and learnings from design thinking and applies it to a five-day step-by-step process. A design sprint can help answer critical business questions from design, prototyping, and testing ideas with clients.

Why use design sprints?
Design sprint process and stages
This methodology helps you to reduce months of work into five days.
The team brainstorms with experts from every department of the organization to identify the ultimate purpose of the sprint and map out the challenge for the five days. Is it to increase conversion? Reduce bounce rate? They need to identify the problem.
After the goal has been identified, the team starts exploring several solutions by checking different sources of inspiration and drafting various approaches that they could use.
The team now analyses the solutions explored on Tuesday and decides which ones have the best odds of fulfilling the long-term goal. They then develop the sketched solutions into storyboards.
On Thursday, you and your team will turn the storyboards into a working prototype that mimics the final approach and ready it for testing with customers.
Once everything is ready, the final prototype is presented to prospective users, and its viability is tested. Now, you can start gathering feedback by watching how the customers react to the prototype.

What happens after the design sprint?
You can use feedback and insights obtained from users’ reviews to plan your next steps. It could be to perform a second sprint to iterate and polish the idea, making it market-ready. Also, you can use the prototype to sell the idea further and improve the concept.
